When you face disappointment, how do you react?
Do your inner voices moan about the unfairness of the situation? Do you complain that you’re ‘owed’ something?
Whenever you find yourself being taken over by these voices, stop.
The voices of disappointment, complaint, anger, and jealousy yearn to take over. They try to trick you — frequently we wholeheartedly give ourselves over to these voices because they say they will make you feel better.
It’s a lie.
Instead, when you feel the impulse of anger or vengeance churn in your heart, do not indulge it. It is a false solution. Try your hardest to respond with patience and understanding.
It’s not easy, but it’s better than having jealousy take over your mind and blacken you for the day.
