Going back to your breath every time you lose it. The going back to it is the practice, not the being able to focus on your breath.
Try that in every day life. Stay in your body, not in your mind. Feel your breath in every day life. If you have nothing to do? Focus on your breath. Listening to someone? Feel your breath and your inner body while they talk. Don’t listen to your mental commentary, feel your body.
Live in the present moment. You can do it like this.
